National Institutes of Health (NIH) Public Access Mandate Becomes Law

From the “E-News for ARL Directors” for January 9, 2008:  “On December 26, President Bush signed the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2007, which includes a provision mandating NIH-funded researchers to deposit peer-reviewed electronic manuscripts in PubMed Central for broad public access. This important shift in policy—from voluntary to mandatory deposit—signaled Congress’s strong support for increased public access to federally funded research.”

The Wayne State University Library System will hold a workshop on grant writing and getting published on Saturday, December 8, 2007 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the David Adamany Undergraduate Library on the Wayne State University main campus.

Sponsored by the Library System, Wayne State University Library and Information Science Program and the University Press, some of the session topics will include:
